We are pleased to announce that we will be holding a Beginner’s Fencing Camp from August 15th-19th at the Encinitas Fencing Academy.
During the week-long session, new students will be introduced to the basic techniques and concepts of modern Olympic Fencing, and by the end will be able to compete with their campmates in bouts.
Guest coach Aaron Kandlik will be running the camp. He has worked with several US team members and Olympic coaches, compiling a variety of approaches to practice and preparation. Coach Kandlik is also a USA Weightlifing Level 1 coach, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
The camp will run from 10 am to 1 pm, and will consist of warmup exercises, games to help develop focus, decision-making, agility, etc, and instruction in Fencing technique.
Aspiring fencers should wear athletic clothing (shorts/sweats, t-shirt, etc), clean shoes with non-marking soles, and bring a snack and a water bottle. Please use the MindBody button below to sign up for the Summer Camp!
