We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our Competitive Camp August 8 - August 12!

This is a week-long camp that will have fencers doing drills, playing games, and practicing fencing in order to gain skills that will help them become better fencers, better students, and better competitors. Even despite the heat wave last year, all our fencers had a great time at the camp and showed marked improvement afterwards. Not only is it a great chance to learn, it's a chance to have fun with and better know your clubmates!

About our guest coach: Aaron Kandlik has an innovative approach to modern epee, with a focus on tactics and strategy. He has worked with several US team members and Olympic coaches, compiling a variety of approaches to practice and preparation. His resume includes coaching at UC San Diego, Vassar College, Northwest Fencing Center, and he is currently coaching at John's Hopkins University. Coach Kandlik is also a USA Weightlifing Level 1 coach, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He brings an awesome energy with him in his teaching, and is always encouraging fencers to think creatively to synthesize their own solutions.

If you took the camp last year, I highly recommend that you take it again this year so that you can see how well you implemented ideas from last year's camp as well as be reminded of the ideas that you forgot. Additionally, we'll be holding one of our Summer Series tournaments at the end of the camp so that campers can utilize the tools they learned in the camp immediately!

The camp will be from August 8th-12th, from 10am to 4 pm, with a break for lunch. The camp is not limited by age. You can register for the camp at AskFRED, and the cost is $300.

We hope to see many of you there, and please let us know if you have any questions!
